Special Economic Development Grant Program
he Tillamook County Board of County Commissioners has adopted a process for individuals and organizations to apply for small grants ($250 to $2,500) that further the county’s efforts towards economic development. This program is administered by the Economic Development Council of Tillamook County.
Who May Apply:
Officer or individual representing a not-for-profit entity or activity whose project promotes economic growth in Tillamook County.
Application Process:
- Applications will be reviewed semi-annually by an EDC committee (comprised of two board members & one staff person). They will evaluate the applications, and present to the EDC Board of Directors for approval. Guidelines will be: 1) economic development significance; 2) financial need; 3) leverage of other funding; 4) other potential funding sources; 5) potential for success.
- There will be two application periods: July 1-August 31 and January 1-February
29. The funds will be divided between the two periods. The EDC Board of Directors reserves the right to withhold funds from either period if there are no suitable applications.
- Applicants must complete an application form and submit it to Economic Development Council of Tillamook County no later than the set
deadline
.
Grant awards will be decided at the regular EDC Board of Directors meeting following the application deadline.
Upon approval, 90% of the funds will be dispersed to the organization. The remaining 10% will be held until the final project report form is completed.
Criteria:
- Applicants must submit complete grant application to EDC.
- Individual awards shall be between $250 and $2,500. 90% of funds will be disbursed upon award; retainer of 10% will be disbursed upon receipt of final project report.
- Grants will not be awarded to the same entity more than once a year.
- A final project report detailing outcome and expenses must be submitted to the EDC prior to release of final 10% retainage (or consideration of any additional grant request).
- A grantees failure to submit reports on time may excluded them from future funding opportunities.
Monitoring:
- EDC personnel may perform intermittent on-site inspections.
- Project progress reports must be submitted regularly (timeline to be determined upon application approval).
- A final project report will be required (form provided).
