Mission Statement: Facilitate a healthy business community and infrastructure to increase economic viability for Tillamook County citizens.

  • Goal 1: Expand, retain and recruit businesses and industries including the traditional bases in forestry, agriculture and tourism.
  • Goal 2: Increase per capita income, diversify the economy, and promote economic growth through year-round family wage jobs.
  • Goal 3: Sustain and grow the Economic Development Council of Tillamook County.
  • Goal 4: Support infrastructure for community and economic development.
  • Goal 5: Promote educational opportunities for youth and adults that will increase prospects for local satisfactory employment.


The Economic Development Council of Tillamook County is an ORS.190.010 Intergovernmental Agreement Agency composed of municipalities, public agencies, and members. The purpose of the Council is to form a partnership in all matters related to economic development in Tillamook County. The Council provides coordination of efforts including business development, recruitment, and expansion activities by regional, state or federal agencies and/or programs.

The Council is represented by an elected board of directors. It is comprised of nine members, elected by parties to the agreement and private business partners. Each director serves a three-year term. In July of each year, the Board elects a chair person, vice chair person, and secretary-treasurer.
