Community Development Block Grants

Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) are extremely beneficial to communities in Tillamook County, particularly for infrastructure projects. However the management and paperwork that precedes and accompanies a CDBG is arduous, intensive, and expensive, making it prohibitive for rural areas with limited resources and experience. The Economic Development Council of Tillamook County houses a certified grant manager to assist communities who have been awarded CDBG’s or other grants. By providing this service we help communities to:

1) move projects toward completion in a timely manner,
2) save grant and tax-payer dollars by avoiding costly record keeping mistakes, and
3) leverage additional resources.

The goal of the program is to successfully administer CDBG's and other grant programs that are available to communities throughout the county and region. Prior to this project there were no professionals in Tillamook County offering this service. Community Development Block Grants are extremely beneficial, however the management and paperwork that precedes and accompanies a Community Development Block Grant is arduous, intensive, and expensive, making it prohibitive for rural areas with limited resources and experience. Grant administration is paid with Community Development Block Grant administration funds, county/city funds, and/or a combination.
